Dance of the Jaguar

Dance of the Jaguar

My first novel, Dance of the Jaguar, is a Silver Nautilus Book Award Winner. The Nautilus Book Award is given to books that are helping to change our consciousness and the world.

Dance of the Jaguar is a magical story about discovering your true self: the radiant powerful person within. From its opening pages, when opportunities appear, Martha, the main character, can either follow them or turn away. Examining the beliefs that have limited her options, she connects with the life she has only dreamed of. As she begins to live with intention and embrace the vibrant energy within, she experiences joy. Her biggest obstacle is overcoming fear and self-doubt. Her new world brings a burst of experience and a lively connection to the universe. She learns to use her gifts and pay attention to the intuitive guidance that is helping her. But more importantly, as she stops giving away her power to others, she begins to experience that she is innately powerful herself. This is her moment of transformation, when she reconnects with the person she always knew was inside. There is wisdom for all of us in these pages as we recognize our connection to an interactive cosmos that supports and sustains us.

I just finished reading your book. It was wonderful. I wanted it to go for another 200 pages. I could not put it down. It is a great book. How long before the second one? I bought a second copy for a friend. I can’t say enough good things.

I love your school for the lost arts. Is any of your book true? If it is, then you will have to share your secrets. This is a fantastic adventure story with lovely bits of wisdom—a totally satisfying read.

Excerpt from Dance of the Jaguar:

“I’ll give you the condensed version,” Aurora said. “Listen carefully. You don’t need to write it down.” She sat very straight in her chair, and her words floated into Martha’s awareness like the notes of a sweet melody played by a flute. “There is a gossamer veil between the worlds that blows open for some of us, allowing us to see the interconnection between all things. Experiencing the interconnection brings us into harmonious interaction, and harmonious interaction carries us into co-creation. This is the responsibility. Here is the gift. Everything you need you already have, and it will arise as you need it. Every action is connected to the whole, and intent is the impetus of action. Emotion is a guide, intuition is a tool.”

As the woman continued Martha felt her mind go blank. It was as if she was listening from a deeper place. Something in the recesses of her psyche was being stirred by an elemental force. She felt an unexplained quickening, and her unanswered questions evaporated. The woman’s voice was like a song. Sometimes Martha felt like she was hearing the melody, other times the words.

“You will discover the rules you live by don’t work,” the woman was saying. “The things you believe in don’t exist.” The aroma of the tea was a sweet as her voice. “You will give up the need to control, and you will create what you need. The moment of creation will be effortless, as in a dream.” Martha felt like she might float away at any minute. “You will live simply, and lack nothing. Chaos will give way to inner calm; resistance will become irresistibility.” The woman held out the amulet. “You need to trust one person especially—yourself. Because the realm of possibility is limitless.”

Martha reached for the jewel. At first it appeared to be a piece of clear quartz, but when she held it up to the light it seemed to come alive, like a snow globe she had as a child. She was unprepared for the almost electric charge that shot through her as she put it around her neck. “From this moment,” Aurora said, “your life will never be the same.”
